#plantintelligence
Lots of people talk to their plants but did you know that plants can speak back to us?
Despite the fun we have in our plant nursery, we take our work seriously. Deep, intentional listening helps us intuit messages from plants that guide us in caring for them and ourselves.
Every plant has its own personality, goals, and desires. Plants are deeply affected by their environment.

Gary
... A Zebra plant, Gary was originally part of a bereavement arrangement. He arrived at the nursery under a great deal of stress. Sadly, he had been potted by a commercial grower, along with two other succulents, using cheap glue and rocks. His roots were bound unnecessarily and his friends were not able to survive.
It was critical that Gary's roots be cleared of as much glue and rocks as possible. He was given some food and water, re-potted and taken to the plant ICU. After lots of love and encouragement, it is wonderful to see him healthy, happy, and thriving. He prefers a quiet, simple existence these days.

Small World Bamboos
Small World Bamboos Izzy, Ozzy, and Eddy were discovered way in the back of a dimly lit novelty shop. Their leaves were dusty from being ignored, but they were generally healthy babies. We thought it was best to take them in immediately...
In no time at all, we learned why the rowdy little bunch may have been relegated to the back of the store. While completely adorable, the siblings are constantly bickering with one another- and, they refuse to be separated! They have vowed to stay together at all costs. Ultimately, their roots run deep and they love each other unconditionally. They are looking forward to being repotted into new vessels soon.

Dili & Dali
Dili and Dali weren't rescues but we remember them as such. After months of shelf-living in a local super center, they were grateful to be chosen. Seemingly average succulents at first glance, each expressed a strong desire to "stand out from the crowd and shine."
Strong-willed and passionate, these two shared a common goal of advocating through art. While in our care, Dili and Dali conveyed powerful messaging about civil unrest, and eradicating war and hatred. Dali considered himself a true surrealist, while Dili "represents heaven on earth." Both plants were adopted separately after they were replanted.
